Day 4 - Saturday 9th July

We spent the morning in the southern town of Porvoo, meeting up with my friend and colleague Pasi and his wife, who acted as guides, showing us round the old town area.  More details to follow later!

With teacher, Pasi Siltakorpi and his wife Anne, in Porvoo.

Relaxing with Pasi over coffee!

DFDS ferry

To get from Scotland to mainland Europe, we use the Danish ferry company, DFDS, who sail from Newcastle in England to Ijmuiden, close to Amsterdam in the Netherlands.

Finnlines ferry

We will travel once again into Finland by using the excellent FinnLines ferry service from Travemunde in Germany.

Tallink Superfast ferry

Although we don't use this service, it's also possible to arrive in Finland from Germany by using the Tallink Superfast service from Rostock.
